Seuvas is a young Japanese brand that is dedicated to working with canvas and producing classic workwear-inspired pieces that they call “free-spirited clothes”. The brand’s foundation is premium Japanese canvas, sourced from the nearby Takeyari Canvas Factory, a long-established manufacturer founded in 1888. Traditionally used for ship sails, industrial textiles, and painting canvases, canvas is valued for its strength, durability, and breathability. Seuvas takes this practical fabric and reimagines it for everyday clothing, balancing toughness with comfort, texture, and ease of wear.

Each Seuvas garment is cut and sewn in Kurashiki using considered sewing techniques and vintage machinery. The brand pays close attention to the details that give its clothes their character, from its scouring process, which brings out the natural texture of the canvas, to the use of tonal cotton thread for a clean and consistent finish.

Many Seuvas pieces are also finished with a signature porcelain button made by +botao from Amakusa pottery stone, a clay ore mined in Amakusa City, Kumamoto Prefecture. Each button is handmade and hand-painted, giving every garment a subtle individual detail.

Seuvas also places importance on low-volume production, repairability, natural dyeing methods, and reducing waste through recycled materials where possible. The result is clothing designed to be worn, repaired, altered, and lived in over time.
