The Rite Stuff Heracles Shirt, the titan of work shirts, has returned with a new name, new details, and is now better than ever. Based on the style of scalloped yoke chambray work shirts that first appeared in 1912 in Chicago and soon spread to workers across America who desired a smart, durable, and versatile work shirt, the Heracles sits at the top of the heap.
The Heracles features scalloped shoulder yokes and a deep, scalloped back yoke for extra durability. Ventilation holes line the underarms and back to let your body breathe in warm conditions. The chinstrap allows for a cleaner, neater appearance when buttoning the shirt up.
Speaking of buttoning up, the Heracles features reproduction 1920s-style painted metal cat’s eye buttons that are made in Japan, are unbreakable, and will patina with wear.
The double-row-stitched pencil pocket can hold a pencil or pen, a tire pressure gauge, and even modern smoking accoutrement. The button-through chest pockets are bartacked for strength.
The sleeve plackets feature a one-piece design, strengthened with bartacks, that is tear-proof.
No more blown out elbows thanks to the double layer of fabric at the elbow that runs down to the wrist. All main seams are triple chainstitched for extra durability as well.
Rounding out the Heracles are selvedge gussets, chainstitch runoff, and a garment workers’ tag with my name on it. It’s my guarantee to you that all The Rite Stuff items are ethically made.
And as always, the Heracles shirt is made in Japan with John Lofgren & Co. to John’s exacting level of quality and fair treatment of workers at every step of the way.
