The Loop & Weft Tompkins Knit Flat Seam After Hoodie is made of fabric produced on the legendary Tompkins upright rotary knitting machine and is one of the very last of its kind. The operator of these vintage machines is retiring, so this is the final season where Tompkins knit products will be seen. Developed during the mid-1800s the Tompkins, is incredibly inefficient but produces a fabric that is similar in texture and weight to the excellent jersey knit of the late 1800s. Unlike modern circular knitting machines that normally knit from top to bottom at high speed, the Tompkins knits slowly from bottom to top and produces a thick soft fabric that contains plenty of air. The cut of this hoodie is based on a classic double-V-gusset after hoodie and is characterised by the 4-needle flat seam construction.

For more information on shipping, we have a dedicated shipping page. We use Royal Mail for most orders but occasionally UPS, FedEx and DHL for higher value international orders. Shipping starts at £6 in the UK and £15 international and increases based on location and, for larger orders, weight.

We offer an easy returns process which is explained in detail on our returns page. All we ask is that returned items arrive back with us in as-new condition including labels and packaging. Unless we’ve made a mistake, we can’t refund or exchange socks, magazines or books.
