About PRAS Shellcap Low Sneakers
The Shellcap Low Sneakers from PRAS/Paradis Rubber Athletic Shoes take the low-top shoe and elevate it to a seriously premium offering. The uppers are made from 100% Kinari Hanpu cotton, which is woven in Kojima, Japan, using a vintage Toyoda shuttle loom. They come with non-slip soles based on 1950s athletic shoes and the brand’s trademark toe box.
The uppers and lowers are attached using vulcanisation. This process involves heating the two parts being bonded in a kiln and was common in the mid-twentieth century in the manufacture of military-grade footwear. Nowadays, only one factory in Kurune, Japan, is able to offer vulcanisation and PRAS are one of only a couple of brands to still make their shoes this way.
The result is strength and durability that isn’t possible using cheaper, modern manufacturing processes and will ensure that your PRAS shoes will be able to withstand whatever you throw at this, whilst keeping your feet supported and comfortable.
