The Papa Nui Tail End Charlie Cap comes from a long fascination with the ubiquitous A-3 Mechanics Cap. First offered way back in 2019, it is back in a refined and reconstructed form for 2025.
Following the premise that gun turrets are tightly cramped spaces, the Papa created a cap that is better suited for issue to ball turret and tail gunners. Enter the Tail End Charlie, a superior Japan-made herringbone twill cap that captures all the history and romance of the A-3 but offers up a re-designated visor shape that provides less obstacle and more freedom of movement in a tight environment.
Never one to stand still, the Papa has upgraded the cap with a Army Duck cotton visor to give superior styling and more flexibility. Long sold out and a much loved piece, this cap is built tough and is not General Issue. The Papa at his absolute finest.

Papa Nui size guide

Watch caps and other special models come in one size. Because of the materials used, these will work for you if either Medium and Large size Papa Nui caps fit you comfortably.

For more information on shipping, we have a dedicated shipping page. We use Royal Mail for most orders but occasionally UPS, FedEx and DHL for higher value international orders. Shipping starts at £6 in the UK and £15 international and increases based on location and, for larger orders, weight.
Please be aware that we’re a two person operation so there may be a day or two between ordering and shipping. If you need something urgently, please contact us and we’ll probably be able to sort it.
