H.E.S. British Millerain Cagoule

The H.E.S. Cagoule is made in South Shields, just a few minutes down the road from our North East base. This cagoule is produced in a stamped run of 40 per colour and built the way the originals were meant to be. Simple, functional and quietly overbuilt.

The cloth is British Millerain 100% cotton dry wax, cut from Ranger 8. It is proofed enough for daily wear and everyday showers, but can be rewaxed if you want to push the weather resistance further. Unlike many waxed cottons, it needs no lining, keeping the jacket lighter, more breathable and easier to wear.

Details are kept practical throughout: raglan sleeves for movement, a three-piece hood, YKK metal zip with windbreak, cotton herringbone drawcords and bar tacks across key points. The front hip pockets are cut large enough for maps, a small nod to the explorer cagoules that shaped the pattern.

For more information on shipping, we have a dedicated shipping page. We use Royal Mail for most orders but occasionally UPS, FedEx and DHL for higher value international orders. Shipping starts at £6 in the UK and £15 international and increases based on location and, for larger orders, weight.

Please be aware that we’re a two person operation so there may be a day or two between ordering and shipping. If you need something urgently, please contact us and we’ll probably be able to sort it.

We offer an easy returns process which is explained in detail on our returns page. All we ask is that returned items arrive back with us in as-new condition including labels and packaging. Unless we’ve made a mistake, we can’t refund or exchange socks, magazines or books.
