Brand
A small production brand from Osaka, Fits Like a Hug focus on easy to wear apparel made to the highest standards in Japan. Their pieces are often made to order and always small, limited runs. Created by One Ear Brand owner, Jonathan Lukacek, the line comes under Pine Mills Co, a highly experienced yarn spinning and dyeing company. Using their expertise, Fits Like a Hug create their own original fabrics and use swatches from various small mills across Japan. Products are dyed in-house and yarns are crafted in the brand’s showroom. When you get your hands on their clothes, the brand’s name makes perfect sense. The brand’s aim is to produce affordable pieces that are comfortable and easy to care for, whilst making “Made in Japan” more accessible to a wider audience. Clothing that give its wearer an experience that resembles the classic Made in USA vintage pieces that are so collectable today, but made entirely in Japan. Available outside of Japan only at Those That Know.
Taking influences from the cowboys and workers who wore bandannas in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, each bandanna features original artwork from Yurika Cherise Shikai, a Japanese-American artist based in Los Angeles. The result is something that is as much a piece of art as it is an item of clothing.
The entire production takes place in Japan, in a way that is as close to the methods used in the 1800s as possible, all the way from creating the selvedge fabric to the hand-printing of the bandanna. The larger size of One Ear Brand bandannas makes them incredibly versatile; they can also be used as eco-bags, neck wraps, belts, halter tops, picnic cloths and more.
We look forward to seeing the innovative ways our customers find to use these beautiful pieces
