The Strike Gold 50S-1st 15oz Denim Jacket is inspired by the Type I denim jackets of the 1930s and 40s. It is made from a 15ox slubby denim made of pure indigo warp threads and a light grey weft thread. The denim is a proprietary fabric made by The Strike Gold and is woven on vintage shuttle looms. These looms are set to wave at their loosest setting, giving the uneven, slubby finish and contributing to the unique character of the denim. The result of this process is the ability of the denim to achieve high contrast fades quickly, giving the jacket a unique patina specific to its wearer. In line with the Type I jacket, it is finished with one pocket and comes in a trim, shorter fit. The length of the jacket is slightly longer than an original Type I, making it more flexible for contemporary wear.
