The Rite Stuff Railhead Salt & Pepper Work Shirt

£170.00

The Railhead Shirt honours the grit of the men who kept industry moving, drawing directly from an early 1930s Washington Dee Cee work shirt held in The Rite Stuff archives. It is a faithful reproduction of a practical working garment, built with the pockets, seams and period details needed for long days on the line.

Cut from 5 oz. selvedge salt and pepper mock twist chambray, milled in Japan, the Railhead has a dry, sturdy handle with enough room through the armholes and sleeves for easy movement. Enamel-painted metal buttons, also made in Japan, are designed to age and patina with wear, adding to the shirt’s honest working character.

The details are where the shirt comes into its own. One pocket includes a pencil slot and watch pocket compartment, with an extra buttonhole on the placket for securing a watch chain and T bar. The opposite pocket is a bellows style with a flap for added utility. A period-correct collar, traditional chinstrap, single-needle cuffs, triple-stitched main seams and selvedge gussets complete a shirt built for strength, movement and proper workwear function.
