The Rite Stuff Bantam Shirt – Indigo Chambray

£145.00

The Rite Stuff Bantam Shirt is inspired by the pre-WW2 work shirts that were adapted by workers by cutting the sleeves down for use in warmer weather. It is made from a 75% cotton, 25% linen 5 oz. selvedge chambray that’s milled in Japan. The fabric features a beige weft and has plenty of texture and character and an incredibly soft hand. The Bantam features two acorn-shaped chest pockets with flaps, first seen in the 1920s, and an extra-wide pencil/pen slot on the left pocket. The collar is a period-correct shape and length, based on a 1930s original vintage piece. All principal seams are triple-stitched for durability, and the gusseted sides prevent tearing.

Brand

The Rite Stuff creates new takes on pre-World War II American workwear, with exceptional attention to detail and focus on quality and ethical production. Whereas most heritage clothing brands focus on the post-war years, The Rite Stuff owner, Bryan Shettig, takes his inspiration from the clothing worn by workers in the early part of the twentieth century.

Influenced by classic pieces of the time and an extensive vintage archive, the brand puts its passion for the history of heritage clothing into each piece they make. The result is tough, functional but incredibly beautiful clothing that is full of period-correct details and that looks just as good today as it would have a century ago.

Authentic, Japanese-milled fabrics and deadstock materials, combined with a production process that closely resembles that of a century ago, means that each piece The Rite Stuff makes is built to last.

Production is overseen in the finest Japanese facilities by John Lofgren & Co., resulting in heritage workwear of unsurpassed authenticity and quality.

Care

The Rite Stuff Bantam Shirt is tough and durable so doesn’t need any specific care. It has been washed once so expect very little or no further shrinkage. Wash when needed on 30 degrees.
