Made in Japan

After World War II there was an abundance of military clothing left over from the US occupying forces. It became popular with the Japanese people and was sold and traded on the black market. Areas such as Okinawa and Kojima were known for their textile weaving expertise and skilled workers in these areas began recreating fabrics and garments to an even higher standard than the originals. Fast forward several decades and “Made in Japan” and Japanese denim are hallmarks of quality and craftsmanship.
