Latigo Leather takes its name from the Spanish látigo, which means whip. It is mostly manufactured in darker colours, with black, brown tones and deep reds being particularly prevalent.Read more
The characterisation of Latigo is down to the fact that oiling and waxing takes place after the tanning and dying process is complete. The result of this is a soft finish that is pleasing to handle, whilst still being durable and strong. Quite often Latigo Leather can be found used in saddlery and, because of its properties, it is perfect for use in the manufacture of accessories and wallets.
The Latigo products we sell at Those That Know are made by Faler, a leather brand from Ohio, USA. Faler use traditional techniques to make their products and this is evident in the high quality finish. Everything is done by hand and all processes are carried out in their Dayton workshop.
